Year 4

Welcome to Year 4 Home Learning

'Sing up' at Home!

Music and singing are incredibly powerful and can help support us in so many ways – emotionally, physically and intellectually. The benefits are endless, and supporting singing is central to the philosophy at Sing Up.

Teacher Messages - Week Commencing 18th May 2020

Hello Year 4!

We hope that you are all well and enjoying the time you have at home. Thank you to all of you who have uploaded pictures and videos onto ClassDojo. It has been lovely to see what you have been up to and the brilliant work that you have produced at home. We have lots of talented bakers, actors, artists, and writers in Year 4! Remember that as well as trying to complete your home-learning, it is really important to give yourself some time to do things you enjoy.

Please keep uploading your photos and videos – they really do make us smile 😊

We have set another lot of work to keep you busy at home and know that you will produce some amazing work. Make sure that you check underneath each subject tab on the year 4 home-learning page to see the variety of activities for you to complete.

Remember to head over and have a look at the chicken blog for an update on Roxy and Birdy                                                                               Roxy has been rather sneaky and managed to successfully escape … She was quick enough to devour Mrs Richardson’s newly grown spinach and thought it was rather delicious! No doubt Roxy is planning her next escape, I wonder what she will demolish next?

We miss your smiley faces and cheeky laughs. We can’t wait to be reunited with you all as soon as it is safe to do so. Take care and keep smiling  😊

Teacher Messages - Week Commencing 4th May 2020

Hi Year 4,

We hope you have been enjoying some of the activities we have set you. Lots of you have started to upload images on class dojo which is great… keep them coming as we love to see what you have been doing. Did you manage to have a go at the puddle experiment? If not, we are predicted quite a lot of rain so you have a great opportunity.

We’ve planned more ideas to keep you busy at home and know that you will produce some amazing work. This week you can draw, sketch or paint your favourite book character, write instructions to share with us on class dojo and learn the water cycle song!

In other news, did you see the newsletter this week? We’ve sent you some updates about what we’ve been getting up to. Mrs O’Sullivan forgot to mention something (and Sycamore class, you won’t believe it!)… she bought a butterfly net and caterpillars for Rory! Known for not being the biggest animal lover, this is a big thing for Mrs O and their first pets haha! If you have any name suggestions for them, send them our way via class dojo. Be creative, no butterfly wants to be named Bob!

We miss your smiley faces and cheeky laughs. We can’t wait to be reunited with you all as soon as it is safe to do so. Take care you lovely lot 😊

Teacher Messages- Week Commencing 20th April

Hello to everyone in Year 4!

We hope you have been enjoying the sunshine and have had a lovely break over Easter. The staff (plus the odd chicken) were busy having fun making a video for you to go on the website and hope it made you all smile!  Make sure you check it out through the link on the home page!

We would like to welcome you all back to an exciting new term where, even though we can’t BE together in our classrooms at the moment, we can still LEARN together using the fantastic resources we are uploading for you. Just as you do when we are in our classrooms, we know you will use your CAN DO attitude, try your best and enjoy your learning!

We are missing you all lots and hoping we will see you all again soon. It will be fantastic to hear all about your learning journeys when we meet again!

Miss Alder, Mrs 0’Sullivan, Mrs Richardson and Mrs Cornish

Teacher Appreciation Day

We just wanted to say a huge 'thank you' for all your kind messages and videos of support. It was a lovely surprise! Our jobs wouldn't be the same without all your smiley faces and cheeky laughs, so here is a thank you from us to you too 😊

The 'Happy News' Project

Bethan has produced two fantastic reports for her 'Happy News Project'. They are bright, informative and uplifting.

Matthew has written a brilliant happy news report all about cheerful rainbows. Have you made a rainbow to display in your window? If not, I'm sure after reading Matthew's report you will be inspired to put one up 😊

Take a look at Constance and Lily's happy news videos by clicking on the link below. The videos are brilliant and I'm sure you will agree that the girls are natural news reporters! Well done Constance & Lily! 😊
